The history of the industrial production of zeolitic molecular sieves at the Bad Köstritz site began in 1989, when an extruded type 5A molecular sieve first left the production plant for a special application in petroleum refining. Consistently geared towards the production of specialities and serving niche markets, following the socio-political change in East Germany, the Molecular Sieve Division now represents a successful, global business unit of the company and makes a significant contribution towards its success. Products bearing our KÖSTROLITH® trade name can now be found in technical adsorption plants throughout the world. The main emphasis of our product range lies in highly specialised molecular sieves for the production of technical gases, where all related products have been developed at the company and transferred to the company’s custom production facilities.

The latest product within this business unit is the development and introduction of binder-free molecular sieves.

Overall, we are in a position to manufacture practically all the zeolitic molecular sieves currently in demand in spherical form, using modern production facilities that have been optimised for the products mentioned above.
