Our “silicic acids” business unit contains synthetic amorphous silicium dioxide particles which are synthesised exclusively using purely inorganic raw materials in an aqueous environment.

We distinguish between two product groups:

• Colloidal silica (Köstrosol®) are solutions of SiO2 dispersed in colloids whose average particle size is 5-80 nm depending on the type
  

 

• Micronised silica gel (Köstrosorb®, Köstropur® and Köstrosolid®) is finely ground amorphous silicium dioxide with average particle sizes between 2 and 25 µm.

We expand and update both our colloidal silica and the micronized product range on an on-going basis. For this purpose we pay particular attention to market trends and customer requirements which enables us to develop products which are tailored to these ever-changing applications.
